Hay Festival is here!
Hay Festival runs 21st – 31st May with talks, film screenings, classical music and more. There’s still time to book your tickets.
The Festival site is completely free to enter. Drop in for a coffee, browse the Bookshop and market stalls, enjoy free BBC recordings, then book individual tickets for the events that interest you.
Whether you’re after a morning film screening, an afternoon talk, or a full day exploring, you only pay for what you want to see.
Gardening enthusiasts can hear from Mary Berry on her lifelong passion for gardens, Sarah Raven on growing beautiful cut flowers year round, and Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall on the joys of growing your own food. Food demonstrations feature local producers including Hay Distillery, Lucky 7 Beer Co., Black Mountains Botanicals and Neal’s Yard Creamery.
History lovers have plenty to choose from: new details of Queen Elizabeth II’s private life, broadcaster and historian Tony Robinson’s debut novel, plus local heritage talks on Hay-on-Wye’s famous bookshops and the beautiful Herefordshire Pomona. BBC Radio 3 presents lunchtime classical recitals at St Mary’s Church, Hay, throughout the week.
Film screenings offer classic adaptations such as the 2011 version of Wuthering Heights. TV favourites Hugh Bonneville, Prue Leith, Ian Hislop, Sandi Toksvig and Carol Kirkwood share stories from their careers across drama, food, politics, comedy, and more.
The site offers step-free access, plenty of seating, and cafés and stalls serving food throughout each day.
The Festival runs until Sunday 31st May. Browse the full programme and book tickets at hayfestival.org/hay-on-wye.
