Ludlow Piano Festival returns for five days of non-stop music
The hugely successful Ludlow Piano Festival is back for a fourth year this May! With five days of almost non-stop piano music from around the world it brings the Shropshire town to life.
The Festival is delighted to welcome big names like Isata Kanneh-Mason who brings Beethoven, Peter Donohoe who brings Mozart, Wigmore Hall regular, Danny Driver who brings Rachmaninov and one of France’s leading pianists Vanessa Wagner who has fitted Ludlow in to her world tour to play Philip Glass’ complete Etudes.
The Reverend Richard Coles will tell Alistair McGowan his ‘Desert Island Piano’ choices, Rainer Hersch returns with ‘Wagner’s Ring Cycle in One Hour’; we have mellow jazz, and emerging young talent like former boxer Ellis Arey, local YouTube sensation, Luke Faulkner and 15-year-old Elisey Mysin.
Clara Rodriguez plays it ‘The South American Way’, while Anne Lovett returns with music connected with Paris (from Satie to Nina Simone) and Connor Fogel plays your favourite tunes from West End musicals,
And it all ‘breaks off’ with our ‘Celebrity Concert’ featuring some old and new names including World Snooker Champion, Shaun Murphy!
Pianist, Tyler Hay, said last year: “I’m convinced your festival is full of more ideas than any other around.” And Proms presenter Katie Derham said: “It was enormous fun and I fell in love with Ludlow.” After five, full, fabulous days in May, we’re sure you’ll agree!
