Glasbury Arts Exhibition: Highlighting the Artists

In its 23rd year, the Glasbury Arts Annual Art Exhibition opens on Friday 16th October. Part of the Wales-wide series of Celebration of Welsh Contemporary Painting exhibitions, all artworks on display this year will feature some form of painting.
This Year’s Artists
Adrian Kay: Local artist Adrian returns with a new collection of geometric abstract paintings using mixed media.
Amanda Turner: Contemporary painter, Amanda, will be showing a collection of painted portraits of famous authors.
Alan Salisbury: Expect intense detail and graphic clarity in Alan’s paintings featuring a range of subjects including still life.
Dawn Cripps: An exhibition regular, Dawn’s popular nature-inspired embroidery featuring painted botanicals are back for 2026.
Caitriona Cartwright: With letters and details all carved by hand, Caitriona is renowned for her stonework pieces celebrating natural forms.
Clarissa Price: Inspired by local landscapes, this year Clarissa’s pen and watercolour drawings will feature some well-known peaks.
Christine Williams: Also known as ‘Melangell’, Christine’s pigmented beeswax paintings are back showcasing the beauty of Wales.
Gracie Price: A ceramicist and illustrator, Gracie’s characterful pieces will include sculptures and homeware.
Jessie Dixon: Based in Hay on Wye, Jessie’s oil paintings will cover a range of subjects including people, animals and still life.
Jenni Hall: Painting in ink, watercolour and mixed media, Jenni will be back with a new collection of expressive artworks.
Juliet Parker Smith: Based in Glasbury, this year Juliet’s works will centre around a sea theme.
Maggy Roberts: Maggy’s colourful abstract paintings of landscapes will be returning to Glasbury, bringing patten and warmth to the space.
Sarah Langton: After making her artist debut last year, Sarah returns with her characterful ink and mixed media paintings.
Sally Matthews: With animals as the focus of her artistic expression, come and see what creature Sally has sculpted for this year’s exhibition.
Tracy Thursfield: Surrealist oil painter Tracy returns with a collection of new work influenced by myth, magic, symbolism.
Veronica Gibson: Highly collected and a member of The Welsh Group, expect a diverse range of mark making in Veronica’s artworks.
The GSCE and A-Level Students of Gwernyfed High School
No exhibition would be complete without the impressive range of artworks by local students filling the Ante Room.
New Artists for 2026
Helen Arthur: A contemporary painter and printmaker, Longtown based Helen uses bold brushstrokes to capture familiar landscapes.
Chris Garrett: Joining us from Clyro, Chris will be bringing a floral and outdoor theme to the walls of Glasbury this year.
Stef Thelwell: Known for her ink and watercolour sketches, Stef captures urban life on the pages of her sketchbooks.
